By the hour for open scope
When a job can’t be sized until it’s open, you pay for the time it takes, at an hourly rate plus GST that we confirm when you book.

How the pricing works.
Why are some jobs fixed price and others by the hour?
Where the scope is known before we arrive, a like-for-like outlet swap or a switchboard RCBO upgrade for example, we can put a firm number on it, so we do. Where the scope cannot be known until the wall or ceiling is open, fault-finding or a partial rewire for instance, we charge by the hour, at a rate we confirm when you book, so you only pay for the time the job takes.
What does a fixed price include?
Everything listed under what is included for that job: the part, the labour, the testing, and the Certificate of Compliance where the job needs one. GST is in the number. No separate call-out fee in working hours; after hours a call-out applies per visit, and we tell you the figure when you call.
What happens if the scope changes on the day?
The fixed price holds for the scope listed. If we open something up and find more than the listing covers, damaged wiring behind an outlet for instance, we stop, show you what we have found, and give you a price for the extra before we carry on, so the decision stays yours. You approve the change first, not discover it on the invoice.
Are the prices GST inclusive?
Fixed prices are given GST-inclusive when you receive them, so the number we give you is the number you pay for the listed scope. Hourly rates, the first hour on site and after-hours call-outs are quoted plus GST, which is how trade rates are usually given. Materials, labour and GST are itemised on every invoice.
Is there a call-out fee?
No separate call-out fee in working hours. For hourly work the first hour on site covers the call-out and dispatch, with travel anywhere in Auckland included. After hours the rate is higher and we tell you the figure when you call, before anyone is sent.
Do I get a Certificate of Compliance?
Yes, on every job that needs one. Where a fixed-price job lists the Certificate under what is included, it is in the price. For hourly work the Certificate on our own prescribed work is a small fixed fee per job, confirmed when you book. Certifying work someone else has done is a separate inspection, priced per job for up to 3 circuits.
Is the figure you give me a quote?
Yes, once Ilia has seen the job or your photos. He confirms the number for the scope agreed before any work starts, and we hold that quote. Quotes are free.
